Following the abolition of slavery in 1863 during the Civil War, Abraham Lincoln invites all people to fight for their freedom when he issues the Emancipation Proclamation which reaches the ears of a group of slaves under the yoke of American oppressors. Peter, one of these slaves, heeds his call and is motivated by a deep love for his family as he eludes cold-blooded hunters and the unforgiving swamps of Louisiana in search of his freedom.

Will Smith plays this highly recognisable slave in a story based on true events that chronicles his last days as a survivor of slavery and the situations he and his family had to go through over the years. The film could be characterised as an action drama with touches of suspense that abound in the two-and-a-quarter hour plot.

Joined by Ben Foster, Mustafa Shakir, Steven Ogg, Imani Pullum, Charmaine Bingwa, Gilbert Owuor, Ronnie Gene Blevins, Jayson Warner Smith and others, Will Smith makes his return to filming after the events of the 2022 OSCARs. The performances of the actors in this film are so good as to make you believe that you really live in that era, with Smith proving to be not only a great actor in his manner but also in his accent as he plays a man of Haitian traditions.

Las actuaciones de los actores que participan en esta película son tan buenas como para hacerte creer que realmente vives en esa época, demostrando Smith, no sólo ser un grandísimo actor por su modo sino también por su acento al interpretar a un hombre de tradiciones haitianas.
Here, the soundtrack is on another level, full of melodies that, despite containing sad tones, match the plot and the moments that can be appreciated in it. The ambient sounds are very well worked as well as those used to build the war scenes.
Aquí, la banda sonora está a otro nivel, llena de melodías que, a pesar de contener tonos tristes, combinan con la trama y los momentos que se pueden apreciar en ella. Los sonidos ambientales están muy bien trabajados así también como los que fueron utilizados para construir las escenas de guerra.
Emancipation takes place in the United States during the time of the liberation of black slaves in 1863, where Lincoln is mentioned as one of the most important leaders of that time. The film follows the current trend of black-and-white filtering, although not 100%, simulating how many people would imagine what that era would have looked like.
Emancipation transcurre en Estados Unidos durante la época de liberación de los esclavos negros en el año 1863 donde se menciona a Lincoln como uno de los más importantes líderes de aquel momento. La cinta sigue la tendencia actual de filtro de blanco y negro aunque no al cien por cien, simulando cómo muchas personas lograrían imaginarse como luciría aquella época.
Although as realistic as they look, the scenes containing crocodiles, fire and even the dogs are made with CGI technology and computer-aided design software with such a high quality and workmanship that no visible lack of graphics is visible. The black and white filter helps to soften the experience by drawing viewers into the film's cinematics.
Aunque por muy real que parezca, las escenas que contienen cocodrilos, fuego incluso los perros son hechos con tecnología CGI y software de diseño asistidos por computadoras con una calidad y trabajado tan grande que no se aprecian faltas de gráficos visibles. El filtro blanco y negro ayuda a suavizar la experiencia haciendo que los espectadores se sientan atraídos por la cinemática de la película.
Produced and starring by Will Smith, Emancipation is a film that, when you watch it, you can feel a part of it and it conveys feelings of despair, anxiety, joy or sadness; this movie is complete. Apple TV has relied on the talents of these great actors and created a memorable film that is now available in its streaming platform. I can only say that it was one of the best I have seen this year and it left me with my mouth open, every scene is special and none of them are predictable. My score for it is 8/10 so I invite you to watch it and then I hope you could tell me what you thought.

Producida y protagonizada por Will Smith, Emancipation es un filme que, al verla, te puedas sentir parte de ella y te transmite tanto sentimientos de desesperación, como de ansiedad, alegría o tristeza; esta película está completa. Apple TV ha confiado en el talento de estos grandes actores y ha creado una memorable cinta que se encuentra disponible ya en su plataforma de streaming. Sólo puedo decir que ha sido de lo mejor que he visto en este año y me ha dejado con la boca abierta, cada escena es especial y ninguna es predecible. Mi puntuación para ella es 8/10 así que te invito a verla y luego espero que me cuentes qué te pareció.
